A resident of San Ramon, California, Ranjan Mendonsa has had a successful career in finance spanning nearly four decades in diverse industries such as Technology, Payments, Retail, and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG). Ranjan Mendonsa currently serves as the Vice President of Finance at VISA, based in Foster City, California.
VISA initially hired Mr. Mendonsa in 2013 as Senior Director of Technology Finance. In this position, he oversaw the financial management of Global Technology Operations including Data Centers, Infrastructure, and Cybersecurity. In 2017, he began overseeing Technology financial planning, analysis, and reporting including intercompany report, Capital Planning, M&A integration analysis and reporting. Currently, his role as Vice President of Finance involves a broad portfolio overseeing the Financial Management Technology (Operation & Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Corporate IT), Corporate services (Real Estate & Aviation), and Sourcing finance.
During his tenure with the company, Mr. Mendonsa has managed VISA’s worldwide technology and corporate services operating expenses, as well as hardware/software, data center, real estate, and aviation capital budgets. He has also been heavily involved in financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting for the Global Technology and Corporate Services department.
Mr. Mendonsa has collaborated with teams in finance, Technology, Accounting, Tax, Product, and Investor Relations to create presentations on the company’s technology investments for the CEO, CFO, and board of directors. He was in charge of financial reporting for the Visa Europe Integration project, which involved tracking multi-million-dollar savings commitments for the company’s board of directors. As part of this project, he collaborated with cross-functional teams to integrate the newly acquired VISA Europe business, while streamlining worldwide technology and financial reporting to meet key global savings goals.
Mr. Mendosa was also integral to several cost-savings projects that involved working with technology and sourcing business partners to identify cost efficiencies with global technology vendors and telecommunications carriers that resulted in multi-million-dollar savings. He also created business models for tracking cost savings for long-term technology architecture and data center investments, which transformed VISA’s technology footprint and reduced costs.
